I am excited to endorse Wendy Ella May for NC House District 28! She is a fighter who supports policy that benefits the citizens of North Carolina, not the special and corporate interests. She especially supports economic development and broadband expansion for rural areas that have been traditionally left behind, creating a economy that works for everyone in North Carolina, regardless of where they live.

I am excited to endorse Wendy Ella May for NC House District 28. I first met Wendy when I helped lead a principal-approved walkout at Apex High School after the Parkland shooting in 2018. I invited several area candidates to that event and Wendy was one of only two who came to show support and stand up for student safety. I am excited to endorse a candidate who will listen to their constituents and support young people!

Wendy Ella May is a founder member of the NC Central and Cape Fear Region Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby, a non-profit, non-partisan international grassroots organization dedicated to creating the political will for a stable climate. A vote for Wendy Ella May is a vote for a clean environment that will endorse carbon pricing to make sure you, your children and grandchildren have a livable planet now and in the future. I have known Wendy for over 8 years and she is an active Democrat working in our community willing to take on the difficult challenges that create a better world for us all.
Christopher Telesca SEC member from Wake County President of the Wake County Progressive Democrats – the group that started the Progressive Caucus of the NCDP
I cannot vote for Wendy since I don’t live in her district, but I ask you to vote for her in the November general election. That great candidate is Wendy Ella May. Wendy has always stood up for average person over money interests – a rarity in this day and age. I have known her for years – she was an original founding member of the Progressive Caucus of the NCDP – that was created to help reform the Democratic Party. She’s not one of the “posers” that spends too much time on caucus bylaws and committees to distract caucus member from needed reforms to the Democratic Party that have caused the Party to slip into second place behind Unaffiliated voters in North Carolina. She has done so as a founding member of several caucus groups Labor, Veterans and Military Families, Small Business, Transgender, Progressive, Rural, Disabled within the Democratic Party to give previously under-represented voted a voice in the Democratic Party. But she will not represent only Democrats – she supports policies that would benefit the voters of her district regardless of their party affiliation. She will not mince words, and will call out injustice and inequality wherever it occurs. She will support working families over the rich and powerful. She supports the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, a living wage to fix income inequality, and – finally – affordable housing! All the voters in NC House District 28 will be lucky to have her as their elected representative. But first Democrats and UNA voters must vote for in the general election. And once you do that – you will be proud of her!

Wendy is the right person for the job. She has shown herself to be committed to the right values for our community, and has played a part in so many critical, positive changes in our area. I have known Wendy from the NCDP Native American Caucus, and she has shown leadership and integrity! I stand with Wendy!
Elizabeth Longman: NCDP Progressives
Wendy is a compassionate leader who will hold the best interests of the constituents as the number one priority. She always has a well researched view on the issues.
Linda Wilkins-Daniels: Former State President AAC-NCDP
I proudly endorse Rev. Dr. Wendy Ella May for North Carolina House District 28. She has shown that she supports legislation that is favorable for her constituents – not lobbyists or special interest groups. On several occasions, I witnessed her stand up for the average person and unapologetically address issues and provide solutions. She’s definitely an outlier in a status quo political system, a system that accepts a belief that raising large sums of money is the only way a political candidate can be viable and win a race. Political parties commonly ignore mental acuity, kindness of heart, honesty, and a candidate’s purpose for wanting to serve. Dr. Wendy Ella May embraces diversity and has worked diligently to organize LGBQT chapters, African American Caucus chapters, and Veterans chapters across the state, and essentially paid her dues to the North Carolina Democratic Party. Dr. Wendy Ella May’s mission and vision speaks volume about her character. She states that she wants to be a voice of reason, the eyes of justice, champion of equality, and trailblazer for the next generation. Further, she envisions a North Carolina House District 28 House and General Assembly where democracy prevails, with justice for all. She uses a political vernacular that is uncommon among most politicians and candidates. She’d make a great representative for North Carolina House District 28.
Viola Figueroa: Commander/Chair of the Veterans and Military Families Caucus NCDP-WC
As the Commander/Chair of the Veterans and Military Families Caucus NCDP-WC, I stand with and by Rev. Dr. Wendy Ella May. Definitely the right caring, compassionate, voice of reason candidate for the House. Wendy Ella May organized and started the Veterans and Military Families of NCDP. I was honored when asked and elected into the position of Commander/Chair. The mentoring and patience given is priceless. Thats just the type of person Wendy Ella May over the years have proven to be. Vote for the Veteran with a sincere heart for others. Vote for Veteran May!
From Herb Harton: President of NCDP Labor Caucus
I cannot vote for Wendy because I don't live in her area, but I can tell those voters who do live near her that they will get an honest representative who will never waver, no matter how the prevailing political winds blow. Wendy is honest through and through and will always give you the unvarnished truth. Additionally, she believes in the values and ideals to help and support working families. She is outspoken and will never sit mute while rotten legislation is being presented. If something is not right, she will scream it from the rooftops. She makes it a point to be well versed on all political matters, local and national. As previously stated, I cannot vote for Wendy, but I wish to hell I could. She is exactly the kind of representative I would like to have guarding my family and values. To the voters in her area, you will be well served to elect her.
Timmy Penny: Precinct Chair
I would like to encourage Democrats to vote for Wendy Ella May in the upcoming House election. She has championed the fights that we believe in. She will ensure that all citizens are treated equal. She will work to expand Medicaid for all people who cant afford insurance. Clean air and water and climate research to ensure my grandkids will have it in the future. I am Timmy Penny 63 year lifelong resident of Mcgees Crossroads. Thank you for reading and your consideration.

Coleen Burnett Former Candidate Boro of Eatontown NJ
Wendy is a long-time and very dear friend. As the saying goes, quotShe means what she says and says what she meansquot. You always know where she stands on any issue. She provides a voice for those who have no voice. Wendy always puts 100 per cent into any project she undertakes. There is no question in my mind she will do the same once she is elected to office...its time for some fresh ideas!
Matilda Phillips Former President Senior Dems of NCDP
